Primary data is data gathered for the first time by the researcher. It is the raw form of data and thoroughly studied and hence, a helpful tool for secondary data. Here the method used for the collection of primary data is by using the reference of the website.

The referred websites in this project are used as a source of data for this project. Most of the content is collected from these websites. The authenticity of this information cannot be taken seriously, and thus, keeping that in mind, most of that data might be real or fake.

DETAIL REPORT OF PROJECT:

Kurkure was launched in 1999, and it since then transformed the way Indian snacks. So we decided to dive into the world of Kurkure to see what it takes to craft the most lip-smacking treat pack and

ship it to a grocery store near you.PepsiCo’s snacks plant. All PepsiCo’s plants and manufacturing facilities are designed for the higher standards of food safety, and these plants have been selected in a location that provides them with the right environment for manufacturing, and the process is controlled.

Best in quality safety and production, HACCP certifies this state-of-the-art facility By TQCSI Australia American Institute of bakery AIB USA, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18001 USA. Their commitment to food safety has been recognized internationally and nationally by some of the leading association CII recognized them for food safety, and they won the national award in the category of large food Businesses.

The process of manufacturing Kurkure begins when the raw materials like Cornmeal, Gram meal, and spice mix masala seasoning arrives at the facility. These suppliers are selected basis PepsiCo’s global standards of safety and quality. Before the load is accepted, samples are tested as for the protocol defined by the quality-control lab to ensure samples match the global gold standard. In case of any variations, the whole shipment is rejected after getting a green flag from the quality-control lab; the material is stored in a clean, hygienic, and dry environment. All the ingredients are certified 100% percent vegetarian. The production lines are regularly sanitized to ensure hygiene.

The production process then starts from blending the meal that is right corn and gram at a specific ratio. Tested water is also added for perfect extrusion. The mixture is then passed through an apparatus, Called the extruder through which the blended wheel is converted into Kurkure. From the extrusion process, it then goes into the fryer where the roll Corn is fried in edible oil to ensure the best taste and crunchiness. After cooking, the Kurkure goes through a seasoning tumbler. Kurkure is sprinkled with a spice mix season before it proceeds towards the retention conveyor system. Yummy finger-licking Kurkure is now ready for packing, But even before its final departure the product is scanned to make definitive assurances that no foreign particles have entered the product

The quality-control lab approves the packaging material before it goes to the packaging section. It is, therefore, no surprise that when an unannounced audit was done on one of the Kurkure facilities by the American Institute of Baker’s, fertility was ranked amongst the highest all-India across all standards. Pepsico’s values globally have the highest commitment to protecting the environment.

Pepsico is also the proud recipient of the golden peacock award for Environmental Health and Safety. Their plant’s energy consumption is 75% percent of renewable energy. This they have achieved by utilizing the waste that they generate in their plant convert them into energy and also for fuel, which they make Kurkure and other products.

The Kurkure manufacturing facility is one such shining example. No wonder the brand has been consistently voted as one of the most trusted brands in the food products category in India for the last five years since 2010 in a survey done by The Economic Times. This Numkeen snack continues to delight consumers across India with its imperfect shape and the perfect delectable taste.

ANALYSIS OF DATA:

Kurkure is one of India’s favorite snacks. Launched in 1999, Kurkure instantly became a hit with Indian audiences and became a prime-time snack in the market, which so far had strictly limited options in branded, packaged snacks. Kurkure was launched in India in 1999 and is a type of corn puffs which are made by mixing different grain meals like cornmeal, gram meal, rice meal, spices, and condiments. It is a fried snack and readily available in every nook and cranny in India. The popularity of the site has grown over the years, and today, it is even exported and has created a significant market even outside India. The band today consists of over 15 flavors of Kurkure!

Before Kurkure, the Indian market was ruled by Cheetos (also manufactured by PepsiCo in India), which was extremely loved by the youngsters and the kids because of the freebies they got with it. Cheetos is responsible for or staring at a complete “Tazo” craze in the country. Each pack contained one of these round circular discs, which included a score value, and you could play with or against your friends to build up an excellent Tazo collection. Cheetos was responsible for many under-the-desk Tazo wars in schools and wholly-owned the Indian market. The Tazos feature cartoons like The Looney Tunes and even the Pokemon (quite like the McD toys of today). However, the entry of Kurkure completely changed that.

CONCLUSION:

Though Kurkure created a new space in the market, the more significant challenge for the company was to get the customers hooked on its unusual shape and crunchy texture. “The brand name Kurkure was the outcome of a group discussion in which consumers sampled the brand and repeatedly said that it was nice and ‘Kurkura’ (crunchy),” says Dr. T.S.R Murali, Head of R&D, PepsiCo India. The first objective was to start consumer trials. “We stuck to the consumer feedbacks and used the advertising line Kya Karen Control Nahi Hota,” says Warrier.

DISCUSSION:

I asked a friend, “Does Kurkure contain plastic?”

Kurkure is an evening snack that is manufactured using the right ingredients like rice meal, cornmeal, gram meal, salt, spices, seasonings, etc. and is not dangerous for health. These are the common ingredients in Indian kitchens as well.

Kurkure does melt when you burn it, but again most of the salty snacks do the same. It burns because it contains carbohydrates. The plastic-like substance that you see in Kurkure is nothing but starch. The shiny plastic like the look of Kurkureis that of dried starch, which is not dangerous for health. It is the same thing that you can see over starched cotton shirts, or on rice cookers after the water dries on the side of the vessel. Also, there is no mention of such a story in times of India.

Kurkure does not contain plastic; the company officials explained the same. They believe that the hoax message should have been started by someone who does not like the brand.

SUGGESTION:

Kurkure is a variety of ready-to-eat crunchy, salty snack known for its unique taste. It was launched in 1999 by PepsiCo India. Leading celebrities promote this product with fun and lovable human quirks. Kurkure is gaining popularity day by day as the product is coming up with varieties of local tastes, what they promote as ‘Desi Tadka.’ Read all terms and conditions very carefully. Yes, Kurkure sure is safe to eat, it does not make any impact on health. There are only rumors that Kurkure is made of the plastic
