This project was undertaken to analyze all the sectors of company, to find out the position in banking industry and compare it with other major bank in banking sector.

This project is being made in order to understand the position of Axis Bank in India.

• To suggest ways for improving the market share, profit margin.
• To make an effective advertising campaign.

This report is divided into various parts according to the objective of the
project:

• The first part of the project deals with an overview of company.
• The second part of the project deals with analysis of Company (Financial Analysis, Competitor analysis, Industry Analysis, SWOT Analysis & Ratio Analysis).

AXIS BANK-AN INTRODUCTION.

Axis Bank was the first of the new private banks to have begun operations in 1994, after the Government of India allowed new private banks to be established. The Bank was promoted jointly by the Administrator of the specified undertaking of the Unit Trust of India (UTI – I), Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC) and other four PSU insurance companies, i.e. National Insurance Company Ltd., The New India Assurance Company Ltd., The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. and United India Insurance Company Ltd.
