Our Smart Traffic Management System using IoT aims to automate and optimize traffic signal operations while providing real-time monitoring capabilities. This system not only enhances the efficiency of traffic flow but also allows for manual overrides in emergency situations.

System Architecture

The core components of this system include an Arduino-based circuit for monitoring traffic density, IoTGecko for online GUI, and a traffic signal controller. The Arduino circuit collects data on traffic density at various intersections and transmits it to a cloud-based platform.

Manual Override

One of the standout features of this system is the manual override capability. In case of emergencies, such as the passage of an ambulance, traffic controllers can manually change the signal to green for the required direction while keeping other signals red.
